🥗 Idli ingredients:
- Two cups of rice
- One cup of split black gram, or urad dal
- One teaspoon of methi seeds, also known as fenugreek seeds
- Add salt to taste.
- Water—as needed
Sambar Ingredients :
- One cup of pigeon peas, or tuvar dal
- One medium onion, cut into slices
- One chopped tomato
- One or two green chilies (slit)
- Half a cup of tamarind water
- One teaspoon of powdered turmeric
- Two tablespoons of sambar powder
- Two tablespoons of oil
- Curry departs—not many
- One teaspoon of mustard seeds
- Dried red chillies – 2
- Add salt to taste.
- For garnish, use fresh coriander.
How to Make Idli:
- Six ghante bhigo dein ke saath alag-alag ko methi seeds ke urad dal ko rice.
- Dono ko alag-alag pisiye aur fir ek smooth batter bana lijiye.
- Eight ghante ferment hone ke liye rakh dijiye kam ko kam se.
- fermentation ke baad namak daal kar achhi tarah mix kijiye.
- After 10 to 12 minutes of steaming, Idli stands me batter daal kar.
- Idli taiyaar hai, soft and fluffy.
How to Make Sambar:
- Tuvar dal ko pressure cooker me turmeric aur paani ke saath 3–4 whistle tak paka lijiye.
- Ek pan me oil garam karke curry leaves, mustard seeds, dried red chillies, and kijiye onion.
- Green chili and tomato daalkar thoda bhun lijiye.
- Add the cooked dal, tamarind water, and sambar powder to the karke and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Namak modifies the coriander leaves that are used as a garnish.
Serving Recommendation:
Saath serve kijiye with hot, fluffy idlis, garma-garam sambar, and coconut chutney. Yeh combo har foodie ke liye ek perfect breakfast treat hai.
